Well, it's officially out (well, been out since the 6th, but I just received the books from Amazon today).

Haven't taken a good look at the books yet, but from what I can see and what I've heard, the game took a step to be more like how MMOs are, so even though the classes are still fairly different, they have a lot more abilities to (at least, try to) bring them more in line with each other.

One key difference I've noticed so far (read: I stopped and read it specifically) are with alignments. No longer are there the two tiers (Lawful, Neutral, Chaotic and Good, Neutral, Evil), but now are 5 specific ones (Good, Lawful Good, Evil, Chaotic Evil, and Unaligned).

For right now, I'm trying to find the 4E SRD, so anyone else interested (but not willing to shell out for em*) could get a peek at how it works. When I find them, I'll link it. (Current statement is that more info for the release or the actual release itself of the SRD will be made on Monday, June 16th)

* If you are willing to pay for them, Amazon has them at about ~$20 per book or ~$58 for the core set (PHB, DMG, MM).

Huh. I knew they said they weren't going to make the SRD as a "pocket PHB" like the Third Edition/3.5 SRDs were, but, really, the 4th Edition SRD is just a step above completely useless.
