The Tangled Web got hacked. You want details, you'll have to look around their site for info.
But, as a part of their announcement, they say they are scrapping the old Profiler for a new one that is integrated with the rest of their site. Which means all characters that are a part of the old Profiler are getting thrown out when they give it the axe.
Now, you can protect your old characters.
Go here: http://profiler.thetangledweb.net/
That is the backup of the current profiler, where you can log in with your existing account name.
Log in, then, for each character, click Edit, then go down to the bottom of that page where it says Download Character and press the Download button (there's only the one format, so don't worry about the drop down list).
It'll ask you where you want to save it, so save it wherever you can find it.
Then, go here: http://www.thetangledweb.net/ucp.php?mode=login
Press the Register button below the Login area and register. Then, when you get the email, follow the link, then go back to the login page as linked above and log in.
Don't use the same account name and password combo, as the attack could have gotten that information, and if you use that combination elsewhere, you may want to change it just to be safe.
Then, when it redirects you, click "Character Profiler" on the left, create a new character with a matching name as one of the files you downloaded, then, when they refresh and show up in the list, press "Edit", then under "Character Sheet Options" there will be a field that says "Upload Character Sheet". Press the browse button, find the matching xml file, then press "Submit".
Repeat for each character.
Ta da. Your characters are safe.
