An Idea for the masses

Is this a good Idea, and will you post the openings in your RPs ?

After talking with Deranged Psycho this evening he presented a hell of an Idea that I wanted to voice for the people. The Idea is in essence a RP classified ad system, where people making Rp or currently involved in Rp post openings for new characters or npc's to be filled by players. Now I know that there are a decent amount of plots that are open for people to join in randomly, but to new players they may appear so far advanced that they look closed to new players. So heres the Question do you think that this is a good idea, and if so will you post the openings to the Rps you are in ?

Any and All rp'ers are welcome and Needed in the New York Present Day Rp and in Anna'a Horror Rp
 
Eh, the way I have tseen this work elsewhere, it that the person running the game will have a [RECRUITING] thread. He'll wait till he gets enough character sheets (assuming a tabletop game) then choose characters to start.

If the need for more players comes up, he puts a post in his recruiting thread letting people know.

Also, sometimes a single LOOKING FOR PLAYERS thread is posted and any GMs who need players post in that thread and when a vacancy is fille dthe remove the 'ad'.
 
Sounds like a good plan. The real question though is how do we implement.

- A forum (might be over the top)
- A thread in RP discussion (stickied and updated as needed)
- Multiple threads in RP discussion with a [Recruiting] prefix
 
The Hunting for the Beast is a non planed out RP, we're winging it. Atm my rp partner is busy with finals and such so are rp is on hold untill his schedule is freed up.
We will need a a Beast, but for anyone who wants to join in, your free to do so.
 
I was thinking about how to impliment it , and I am thinking perhaps a Sub-forum in the Lobby, that way its right in peoples faces when they join up. You know something like the Recruiting Office forum or somthing cliche' like that.
 
If we were to give it its own forum I'd make a main forum, but position it just below the Lobby forum. That way people see that a new thread there isn't just someone's intro or a welcome thread.

Right. If we're going to do this we should actually do it.

I say we should have a forum for it, or put it in RP discussion.
