Main Room
Dahlia rummaged through her bags, pulling out a dark blue binder, filled with all kinds of laminated papers and subfolders. She spoke absentmndedly to Reman as she passed. "If it's hurting you, why do you keep wearing it?" Then again, she couldn't say too much different: her wrist watch was made of foreign metal samples, which weighed at least several pounds. She flipped through its many pages while pacing in a circle, stopping as another sudden shift caught her attention.
On the highlighted wall, the large number chain of numbers had split into two. The top set of numbers had jumped foward to some determined interval, and had continued counting. The bottom number, however, contained all "zeroes" followed by a distinct
V shape. Dahlia turned one last page, spinning the binder around and holding it up to the numerals. Across the page were various sketches and scribbles, as well as chunks of foreign text that had been copied onto the paper."...It looks like a clock. I don't know the day lengths on this planet, but its counting seconds and minutes." The current time read
1127. She continued, looking back at Reman. "I don't know about the second one. It seems broken..."
A small spatter of black landed on the page, prompting Dahlia to swipe it off. She promptly closed the binder, looking towards the ceiling. All across the room, the pitter patter of black rain spread. Small globs of the substance slid off the various orbs and shapes that had been nestled so delicately into the ceiling, falling towards the ground and forming black puddles. As it continued, the wet substance on the floor started to sink away, as if the floor was porous enough to allow it. The mechanical shifting of the machine was interrupted as a new sound- that started out as a quiet crackling. The crackle stopped and gave way to an almost melodic whine that grew in volume until it reached a soft peak, like a speaker in an elevator. The whine started to form into chords that became eerily familiar in sound- not unlike that of a violin. The sound in question was echoing through the halls, emanating from previously unseen devices in the ceiling. It was rather.... calming music.
After a few moments of pause, the sound of progress continued. From behind Arbitrated, the pile of machinery sparked to life again, rocketing a few feet of the ground with another loud beep. The little... thing, started circling the room at speed, its head spinning to face every single person in the room as it made its rounds. It made incoherent zig zags around, halting at each point as if it was... looking for something. Dahlia stepped back, preparing to duck if necessary. She didn't have time to say anything before the little machine stopped, finding
Marie to be... at least the closest thing it was looking for. A synthetic voice spat out of the busted bobble, its half-cracked black... eye hanging halfway out of its socket.
"Jey ariata, Tara! Nu sent solemn ar- EIN- EIN- EIN- EIN- EIN- EIN- EIN- EIN-"
...What did it just say? The string of EINs continued as the bobble hung, suspended in midair. Dahlia slowly approached the floating machine, before something else caught her eye. She looked towards the ceiling, craning her neck to catch another moving object. "There's more!"
Floating down slowly from the ceiling was another bobble-like device, made of similar bronze metal as the one stuck in a loop. This one however, was significantly more intact, with a brilliantly blue eye that almost resembled a gem when looked at head on. It spun around lazily, projecting flashed blue light onto the walls around it.
